So my roommate came into my room at like 1:30AM or something with a girl and they went out to the balcony. They made some noise getting out there but I didn’t really mind. What I did mind was when they woke me up making noise together in his bed at about 2:30AM, including her saying the line: “He’s going to hate you!”
That’s right! And you too! I mean, I’m sure they were drunk, but could they be any more inconsiderate? I didn’t know what to do. I considered saying “Yeah, I will,” but I don’t think they’d have appreciated my cunning at that hour in that state. I also considered just sitting up and cheering them on so that they’d stop, but didn’t have the effort in me. So I just rolled over and went to sleep. I heard later that they ended up in someone else’s room and she ended up just leaving the two of them and sleeping in someone else’s room. I kind of liked the kid before but didn’t really respect him, but now I neither like nor respect him. Oh well.
So anyway, I woke up at 4:45 and tried to wake him up because he was back in his bed alone at that point, but he was pretty well out. I would totally have put more effort into it if I still liked him, but I didn’t like him anymore, so I didn’t go the extra mile, and he didn’t wake up, and he didn’t get to see Angkor Wat.
Jen shared some of her Froot Loops with me on the bus while we went there. We stopped near the main gate. It was still almost pitch black outside – the moon was not bright, or there were clouds everywhere. There were some people with bright LED lights to lead the way, but they were just spots in the dark and didn’t really illuminate anything. It was really super beautiful to walk over the moat’s bridge totally in the dark, not seeing anyone else at all really. Then we walked through a dark entrance way, and there was another long gate we had to go through before we got to the temple. You could see its dark silhouette at that point, and it was pretty crazy how imposing it looked. It was definitely the best part of seeing the temple, seeing it in the dark.
Jen and I sat on the banks of the reflection pool and watched the sun come up until about 7:00. While I was there, I discovered the underwater/aquarium mode on my camera, which adds a red tint to everything and makes the colors way more vibrant. It makes pictures look AMAZING and I used it all day. I was mad that I didn’t know about it before. But yeah, so I’ll have to keep that in mind from now on, especially when it’s superbright and pictures would be washed out otherwise.
