Water

ALL OF THE WATER IN JAPAN IS FREEZING.  Except for in the shower of the ryokan.  But literally everything else is freezing, including the water in public bathrooms that they use to wash their hands.  They don’t even have an option for warm water in there; your only option is the freezing cold water.  Sometimes it’s nice.  February is not one of those times.
